Cheuk Hin Keith Ng (2000) is a rising percussionist dedicated to captivating audiences with his sensitivity and passionate artistry. He strives to create deep connections with listeners, not only through insightful interpretations of his repertoire but also by sharing the personal stories behind the notes, crafting a unique aural experience.
His vibrant musicality has brought him success in competitions, including 2nd prize at the 2022 TROMP International Percussion Competition. He has also been recognized in the PSM Opole International Marimba Competition and Prinses Christina Concours. Notable solo appearances include performances at the 2023 IPEA International Percussion Festival in Shanghai, 2024 Amsterdam Marimba Weekend, Delft Chamber Music Festival, TROMP Percussion Festival, and various solo concerts across the Netherlands.
Beyond solo performance, Keith actively engages in chamber and ensemble music. He is a member of Bang Percussion Trio and Amswave Trio, with performances at Qingdao Concert Hall, Grachten Festival, and Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ, among others. He has performed with Asko|Schönberg and Atlas Ensemble in major events such as Zaterdag Matinee in Het Concertgebouw and Oranjewoud Festival. In 2025, he performed the Hong Kong premiere of Ryoji Ikeda’s 100 Cymbals with Les Percussions de Strasbourg and Toolbox Percussion.
Keith has also explored interdisciplinary projects, including sound design for Hong Kong actor Chung Shing Au’s show GPO Box No. 211. He also co-created Umarmung, a children’s concert premiering at the 2025 Mizmorim Kammermusik Festival, combining storytelling and contemporary music to convey themes of self-embrace.
Passionate about education, he has conducted masterclasses and workshops to inspire young musicians. His engagements include a workshop on setup percussion playing and sound awareness at the 2025 TICAFEST in Free Space, West Kowloon Cultural District, as well as a session on competition preparation at Initial P Percussion Center
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Keith began studying percussion at age seven. He earned his bachelor’s degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and is currently pursuing his master’s degree at the same institution. He also completed an exchange program at die Hochschule für Musik Basel. His teachers include Rachel Zhang, Laurent Warnier, Ramon Lormans, Nancy Zeltsman, Arnold Marinissen, Agostinho Sequeira, Christian Dierstein, João Carlos Pacheco, Nick Woud, Bence Major, Mark Braafhart, Marijn Korff de Gidts, and Richard Jansen. He plays an Adams marimba on loan from the Nationaal Muziekinstrumenten Fonds (NMF).
Outside of music, Keith enjoys cooking and figure skating.
